Carlos Bunga was part of the exhibition “Europa, Oxalá“ at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

FdG Projects was the first exhibition space of art collector Frédéric de Goldschmidt, where he shared his acquisitions with the public. He has several artworks by Bunga, which were part of this double exhibition with Fernanda Fragateiro.

Centro de Arte Alcobendas showed part of the Colección Valzuela, by María Pilar Cerezuela and Enrique Vallés. Art gallery CarrerasMugica hosted an exhibition at La Nave with a selection of artists from Galeria Elba Benitez. It approached contemporary art from the idea of multiplicity, aiming for a narrative to emerge on its own accord. Bunga exhibited several of his Models – sculptures made out of cardboard and paint.

De-monumentalisation was the theme, referring to the sculpture being freed from any celebratory, encomiastic function, and rethinking how it could be possible to once again identify ourselves with monuments.

Carlos Bunga was part of the exhibition Colección Helga de Alvear at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Helga de Alvear, curated by José María Viñuela, patron of the Foundation.

An exhibition investigating the nature of collage in contemporary art practices. Bunga’s objects were part of the 1st cycle Unmonumental: The Object in the 21st Century, exploring the reemergence of sculptural assemblage that juxtaposes disparate elements for suggestive effect.
