This exhibition was a reflection on the scale as a tool for reading, comparing and creating references to understand the space and context of each individual.
The term “scale” is commonly used in architecture and generally refers to the representation of reality. It emerges as a tool for harmony, graphic or architectural composition for resizing an object or understanding it in relation to its peers, in a use that is not merely representative in relation to reality, but as an object of proportional relationship.
It also reveals our position in relation to the world. The urban, cultural and economic context determines our parameters of comparison and understanding of what surrounds us. The perception of the individual is expressed in individual readings of the same reality, resulting from his scale, be it metric, sensory or cultural.
As for the concept “1:1 Scale”, it affects different themes of the triangular relationship between the body, space and the works. The scale places us in front of reality, indicates that man is the fundamental piece for reading space, the body emerges as an activator and the understanding of what surrounds us.
Bunga’s piece is Untitled Model #33; a cardboard mockup on a metallic support that creates a dichotomic dialogue between scale and tension.
