Carlos Bunga was part of the exhibition “Europa, Oxalá“ at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

The Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology presented an exhibition on Pedro Cabrita Reis’s collection acquired by EDP Foundation, focusing on the initial moments of the careers of Portuguese artists.

At Bomba Gens Centro de Arte, Bunga was part part of this exhibition exploring ornamentation in contemporary art as non-contingent.

Guggenheim Bilbao presents an exhibition with pieces from Hermann and Margrit Rupf’s collection. It puts works by key artists from art history such as Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Juan Gris, Fernand Léger, Paul Klee or Vasily Kandinsky in dialogue with works by contemporary artists. Two paintings by Bunga are part of the collection and were included in the exhibition.

Bunga created a site-specific construction for the covered public square “Couros” of the Guimarães Design Institute. The exhibition was part of the program Change in Progress for the Guimarães: 2012 European Capital of Culture.

An exhibition investigating the nature of collage in contemporary art practices. Bunga’s objects were part of the 1st cycle Unmonumental: The Object in the 21st Century, exploring the reemergence of sculptural assemblage that juxtaposes disparate elements for suggestive effect.

The exhibition brought together works by contemporary artists that delve into moments of crisis and fissure affecting everyday urban and domestic spaces. Bunga explored this through a site-specific architectural construction.

Bunga participated at this event organized by students of the Superior School of Arts and Design of Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, where everyone is invited to show their work and projects on the streets of the city and in their homes. At the school’s student residence where he was staying, he showed a site-specific construction and registered an artistic action tearing it down.
