With All Due Intent, Manifesta 5
Carlos Bunga’s interest in the performativity of architecture informed the temporary cardboard structure he built within Rafael Moneo’s Kursaal for Manifesta 5. This structure was imploded through a series of strategic cuts during the opening of the biennale. The remaining skin of the original edifice served as a marker of both interior and exterior.
Prémio Novos Artistas Fundação EDP
The 2003 EDP New Artists Award exhibition was curated by João Fernandes, João Pinharanda and Nuno Faria, and it took place in the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art. Carlos Bunga was elected winner by the international jury

Más que espacio, at Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Helga de Alvear, aims to reflect on how artists have reproduced, interpreted, imagined, denied, or deconstructed the space. Not only from a formal point of view, but also bringing into play other social, political, economic, and emotional implications.
Sari Dienes
An exhibition about at Philadephia Art Alliance about Sara Dienes, whose experimental work expanded what was permissible in the visual arts. She was an early influence on younger artists such as Jasper Johns. Her junk constructions were included in MoMA’s Art of Assemblage exhibit.

Carlos Bunga was part of the group exhibition Dialecto at Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo. For the first time since the museum's founding, the collections are set up throughout the entire building in an exhibition that aims to explain what this museum is, why it exists, to put on display the reasoning behind its programme and, above all, to celebrate the importance of a collaboratively built collection as a project that can take responsibility for telling us what contemporary art is from the perspective of right here, with more than 400 works by 250 artists.
Modus Operandi

A travelling exhibition across four cities in Portugal, at Centro para os Asuntos da Arte e Arquitectura, Círculo de Artes Plásticas de Coimbra, Centro de Artes e Cultura de Ponte de Sor and Espaço Adães Bermudesin. Bunga presented one of his video works.
La Colección de Hermann y Margrit Rupf
Guggenheim Bilbao presents an exhibition with pieces from Hermann and Margrit Rupf’s collection. It puts works by key artists from art history such as Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Juan Gris, Fernand Léger, Paul Klee or Vasily Kandinsky in dialogue with works by contemporary artists. Two paintings by Bunga are part of the collection and were included in the exhibition.
Ramada Project
Bunga created a site-specific construction for the covered public square “Couros” of the Guimarães Design Institute. The exhibition was part of the program Change in Progress for the Guimarães: 2012 European Capital of Culture.

The exhibition brought together works by contemporary artists that delve into moments of crisis and fissure affecting everyday urban and domestic spaces. Bunga explored this through a site-specific architectural construction.
