Ramada Project
Views of the site-specific. ⓒ Carlos Bunga.
Guimarães Design Institute
Bunga created a site-specific construction out of cardboard and tape, acting as meta-architecture in response to the place in which the work is made – in this case the covered public square “Couros” of the Guimarães Design Institute. The fragility of the piece evokes an impending precariousness of the human condition, and invites the audience to experience the institute’s space from a new point of view.
The exhibition was part of the program Change in Progress for the Guimarães: 2012 European Capital of Culture, an initiative funded by the European Union Culture Programme which promotes Europe’s cultural diversity and aims to highlight the richness, diversity and shared characteristics of European culture.
